This restaurant was previously the Indian Ocean, so I’m not sure if it has just been refurbished/rebranded or if there has been a change of ownership.
Regardless, me and my partner went for a meal a few weekends ago. The service was extremely prompt, with drinks, starters and main courses arriving in record time. The main courses arrived whilst we were still eating our starters. The staff seemed friendly enough, but tended to ask if we were ok/if we were enjoying the food far too often. This general rush meant that we had no time to talk between courses, and the tables were also far too wide. I could hardly hear my partner across the table.
I opted for mix of Thai and Indian, with some form of beef ribs w/sauce for starters and a Chicken Dopiaza w/rice for main. The ribs were really fatty, and didn’t contain much meat. Due to the speed, one has to wonder whether these meals had just been microwaved.
The main was better, but wasn’t up to the standard of other Indian restaurants in Whitley Bay.
This is a nice place, the restaurant area is very nice, and there is a large model of an elephant outside. If the service was a little less punctual and in-your-face, and the food of a higher standard, then I would recommend the Siam Bay, however I won’t be in a rush to return anytime soon.

We have had numerous take aways and have eaten in and cannot fault this restaurant. Have always gone for Thai food and it is fantastic. Service good and food lovely, not had a bad meal and have recommended to lots of friends who have also had same good experience.

On my firsy visit I was very impressed with the service , choice of food and facilities. My daughter who was with me was emphatic that she will be back on her next visit and I will be taking some friends in 2 weeks time.

I went there once, but I was very impressed by the quality of service and by the whole place. The food was great, i’m sure that everything was home-made and not microwaved. I’ll definitely come back there and I’ll recommend this place to my friends.

having eaten here before on sunday 8th aug my self and my son went for the grand buffet , to find 1 empty and 2 all off the food clay cold , the staff seemed uninterestd and also have no idea regarding food holding tempretures , very disturbing !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Me and my friend had the buffet , the sellection was ok but not very warm service again just ok. There is better in whitly for the same price or less. Nice place tho just need to improve there quality to be number1

went to buffet ,not a good joice of indian food ,found it to cold,EAT AS MUCH AS YOU LIKE BUT YOU PAY EXTRA FOR DESERT! thanks but not be going again2/10

My husband and I eat out regularly and have been to Siam Bay on several occasions. I cannot comment on the buffet as we have never tried it, however the meals we have tried were of excellent quality and delicious.
The service was efficient and polite.
As to a previous comment from a reviewer with regard to the food being microwaved…. nonsense obviously they are not used to efficient service.
