best in whitley bay bit more expensive then the rest but i wouldnt go to any other indians in whitley bay

After the recent refurbishment Ahar now looks as good as the food’s always tasted. However they haven’t just updated the look of the restaurant , the food is now out of this world (especially the peshwari naan). 10/10, 5 stars, 2 thumbs up…….just go already, you wont be dissapointed!

this restaurant has a wow factor to it, the moment you enter the restaurant your a valued customer the waiters are pleasant the food is superb the ambiance to it is also very relaxed.
need i say more!
experience it yourself.

Dont go on tapas night. The service is far too slow. 2 hours to get served. And its a rip off!

Three of us visited the Ahar a couple of weeks ago for their take on Tapas and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Nice atmosphere, pleasant surroundings and at £9.95 or £10.95 a head you can’t go wrong. We’ll be back.

I have been to the tapas night 3 times in the last few months. Each time the food has been fantastic, the ambience is great and the service was first class. My friends agree that the tapas nights (Thursday & Sunday) are a great idea. The price is very fair considering the very high standards. We cannot wait to to back. Would recommend highly.

hi guys, me and my friends went for the tapas at the ahar on a thursday, i must say we all enjoyed it.
The waiters were friendly and helpful, we waited 25-30 mins for our meal to arrive, the meal was beautifully presented.

guys i would reccomend you to try the tapas, however bearing in mind that eveything is cooked to order and fresh, i suggest you make a night out of it:)

Top food either eat in or take out. We eat there a couple of times a month, be hard pushed to get better anywhere else

After reading some positive reviews, we decided to give the Sunday night Tapas a go, and needless to say we were not disappointed. The waiters are extremely attentive and it’s the little touches that make a big difference. The food we ordered was explained to us as if such care and pride is taken in its preparation, that it deserves an enthusiastic build up. On arrival, it was clear to see our server was justified in his exuberance. The dishes are packed with flavours, and it’s clear that only the finest and freshest ingredients are used. The lamb was so tender it practically melted in the mouth, the creaminess and flavour of my partners korma was the finest i’ve come across. I could happily offer praise for every dish I tasted, but instead i simply recommend you see for yourself. We will certainly be returning.

Visited this restaurant for the first time last night. It was a sheer delight! The food was excellent, the restaurant was immaculate, and the tables were beautifully set. The best Indian restaurant in the North Tynside area. Cant wait to go back, and at resonable prices too! First Class!

My mum took me to Ahar a couple of weeks ago, and I tell you, it was the nicest meal I’ve ever had! I would definatley go back there and I would highly reccomend it to anyone. Amazing.

This place is lovely, great tasting food and perfect portio sizes. It is such a good idea to have a tapas -style Indian restaurant as you get to share and try different things. I highly recommend it.
