Vert nice food but i would agree with Susan that prices are a bit steep

appalling. Ordered drink and sandwich and after 25 mins wait only got an overpriced can of lemonade and no food- reply from staff was one shrug of the shoulders and “I dont know how that happened!!” Dont think they will last long if they cant get a simple order right.

Great food, great atmosphere and great service. I visit the loaf regularly and recommend the Sugar Loaf Burger every time!
Admittedly as Shirley experienced you do occasionally have to wait a little longer especially on a weekend as it can get very busy and obviously as all the food is cooked fresh to order it makes sense but it is always worth the wait!!

Great place to eat. Scrambled egg on toast every time and a cup of tea!
Can be busy at the weekend but a little waiting time is fine, especially with the weather changing a nice cosy place to eat is ideal. The new muffins are fantastic too!!

Visited Sugarloaf a few weeks ago on Sunday and was thoroughly impressed with the menu selection and cosy atmosphere. My wife and I recommend the Eggs Benedict and the Breakfast stack finished off with a Latte and Cappuccino.
Prices are reasonable and the staff are very helpful and friendly.

Ate there today and food was decent but the service needs improvement and the painfully shy young staff need some training to give a bit of confidence. I’ll agree with helpful and friendly, above, though.
One of us asked for French toast without bacon (veggie) and it arrived with and got returned – disappointingly the same toast came back without bacon. If we’d known it was a straight removal I’d have put it in my burger – opportunity missed!
I found myself sweeping crumbs off the table when we arrived. The place was clean but little details like can so easily be put right.
Think next notch up from greasy spoon – trying – but could do better.

Been for the 1st time today, nice to be able to go somewhere where we can sit and have food and drink with a dog, I most certainly will be returning, Yum

A bit slow at times but the food is great. The full breakfast it to die for! Would recommend. Good place to chill out. Well done.

staff are great – food excellent (try the banana on toast with honey or the poached eggs) – the place to meet & greet in Whitley Bay
