Dreadful food & service. Visted for a cuppa & ice cream. Asked the staff to make sure the ice cream was vegetarian for my daughter and the large lady behind the counter took a massive strop & got huffy. Checking the sandwiches etc nothing was labeled as veggie at all. The place looks tired, dirty and match the staff

Got to get this off my chest … this is the only bad review this venue gets on the Internet. How can hundreds of faithful patrons (make that thousands over the years) and regular customers have been so wrong and this one person have seen the light?
The ice cream has been made in the same way for four decades. The sandwiches are handmade on the spot and the “large lady” (you’ve got a nerve) will make a “veggie” one up for you if you ask her nicely. The place is most certainly not tired or dirty and neither are the staff.
You’re missing the point of the place, mate.
Stick to Starbucks … it’s clearly what you deserve.
